Research on Training Events

I was looking through the thread for this upcoming event and it still seems there is some info that could use a bit of research.

Rare Bandit encounters depending on leadered units:
I plan on running my Bernhard or Derpy if I can level him a bit more. None of the beasts appeal to me, and I'd like to know just how running a normal 5* compares to an event 4* (and other comparisons, for that matter). I can tell you that running a non-event 4* last time netted me about 5 or so battles with the 5*s and ZERO 6* encounters. I fought enough to get the Luna after Cleves, so it wasn't for lack of trying .

It looked like this research just got started at the end of the last training event, so we might as well continue the work.

Training chapter was also something that could use more data, I think.

I know there are general consensus' on these two things, but we might as well get more evidence to support/refute what is "known" at this point.

All we'd need for the first is to know your leader and just log which bosses you get. We can break down the percentages later. If you end up switching leads, collect a new set of data for that leader.

Format should probably look something like this:

"Leader Rarity and whether event or not":

4* encounters = XXX
5* encounters = XXX
6* encounters = XXX

For the second piece, it would be great if you stick to one training episode the entire time, but just remember to make a new set of data if you switch. Those that are taking it easy, please choose an "unpopular" episode (i.e. not 1-5, 10-4, or 26-5). Format:

"Training Episode":

total encounters = XXX
total TP used = XXX

PLEASE DESIGNATE ONE POST AS YOUR "DATA POST"

At the top of your post put a big red DATA

Any new data you collect should just be added onto that post, though you don't need to segregate it from your old data (i.e. just change the numbers you have with the new totals). It will make it much easier for me when I do data sweeps of the thread.

If you have any suggestions for better formatting/data collection, let me know. Or if you have a different question about the event that we can answer through research, post it up.

EDIT2: I will be adding data to this spreadsheet for the new training event. The king Mandrake will likely complicate things, but we can work through that. Note that I need way more data on 6*s of both the event and non-event types as well as event 5*s (if there are even event units for this upcoming training). Lastly, please make a new data post for this event. I will be putting a post in to highlight the event change to make it easier for me to do data sweeps for this event.

Mmmm do we post our results at the end of the event or should we just post our current progress and edit it whenever we can?

Either way. I'm keeping a spreadsheet and updating that as I go. If you want to update your post regularly, that might help the community a bit more .

I just want to reiterate that I know research has been done and there is a general consensus on these two topics, but from what I saw, the research was only slightly better than inconclusive. What I always tell my Science students: "More data is good data."

Does anyone know if the level of your main matters in this event? i.e. does a higher level event unit encounter more bosses during training?

...And while we're talking levels, does your character level have any impact?

I don't think the level of your event unit affects your encounter rate with a shadow. However, a higher level unit in general will deal more damage.

I don't think the level of your event unit affects your encounter rate with a shadow. However, a higher level unit in general will deal more damage.

Correct. Although it's something we can test... it will be hard as levels can change throughout the event.

@tomoyo, we'll keep that data. Throwing it out now would be a little biased actually. I only did two full runs in 1-5, but they are data points nonetheless.

6 runs at 25TP hit 9 Bosses 9 -150 6% encounter rate. Training 1-3.

Probably inconclusive data. Ill prob run both about 100 or so. Ill update at 50 mark.

I've noticed out of the 4* units I've encountered Margot the most (21 times total), Adele second (14 times) and Huges least ( 5 times). This was the first time I've encountered Isabelle.

Managed to use at least 1000 TP on everything in 1-X. Used almost all of my Potion (p) >w<
Going to play a bit more casually now

Oh and so many 1* cards x_x I have to keep on taking out my 2* lvl 4s and bump them up to lvl 10 just to save some space lol.

Training Episode, TP used, # of each type of encounter (4*, 5*, 6*).

It's easier to do the percentages at the end so I don't have to weight them.

Personally, I'm doing 3-5 until I've used 10000 TP on it, then moving to another one. Also remember (as I forgot), if you are counting clicks, finding someone to brave doesn't count (you don't lose TP for that).

Just ran interim numbers for training episode. We have over 30k TP spent in episode 1 with 25k coming from 1-5 alone . The encounter rate on 1-5 is .0056 per TP spent, or 1.71 encounters per full bar (300 TP).

Though I have 1/5 the data points for episode 3-5, at this point it is edging out episode 1 with an encounter ratio of .0068 per TP spent, or 2.04 encounters per full bar.

If anyone is feeling risky, I could sure use some data on other episodes .

I did two more ~1000tp runs on 1-5 and got (Hugues/Margot/Adele/Constance/Isabelle) 0/2/2/1/0 and 5/3/2/0/0

I'll be out for a little bit, but let me know if there's a specific episode that you want more data on
