Dream Packs? Empty
PostSubject: Dream Packs?   Dream Packs? I_icon_minitimeTue Sep 03, 2013 12:59 am

Hey all, so I realized that this new Dream Pack event was going on, with the chance to pull some pretty nice cards. So, as many other players who were not present for the first dream pack event, what are the odds? I understand that the chests have limited numbers of cards to pull from, which would *technically* increase our odds of getting something nice. What does the pack mean when it says you cannot pull anything once you pull a 6 or 7*? Does that mean that if I pulled a 6*, it would not be possible to keep going and pull a 7* until I reset the chest? What were the chances of getting something 6 or higher in rarity from the last dream pack event? Some of my allies mentioned that some people are getting the 7*'s from 30$ worth of pulling. Of course, I realize that this is all just sheer chance, but the number of cases seems to be abnormally high. Does anyone else have a speculation on this seemingly larger probability to pull something really great? What would be the recommended $ amount to spend on the dream pack if I were to spend on the packs only once? Yeah... I tried using the FAQ thread, but the answer was too late in coming, and I seemed to have more questions than I thought should have been asked on one post at one time... lol.

For someone who has just joined like me (and you're even 2 weeks older than me in the forums, lol...), here's my advice: don't go beyond the first four cheaper packs. Enjoy the 4* that they offer, lucky for you if you get a higher card (i just won 4 4*, but one of them was really good for its rating).

Learn the game and its events as you play, meanwhile saving little by little per month, until you have funds solid enough to tackle the odds on either an event or a card pack.

Just remember: those "some" that won the 7* out of 30$ are an immense minority out of the larger playerbase out there. You might get lucky, but you might also might not.

Agreed. I went past 30$ (40$) and only got a single 5* out of it (first 5* draw since April)

4* Felicia
4* Fabel
4* Fasti
4* Chris
4* Zenobia
4* Gleb
4* Follia
4* Scarlet
4* Fabel
4* Ludex
4* Chris
4* Snowshoe
4* Imecile
5* Fiato

The tempting thing is that 2 out 30 of my allies got a 7* unit from the dream packs. =/

Are the 3 new 7*s more common or something? I and several of my allies have gotten at least one 7*. I only drew the one time 100 coin pack, three 200 coin packs, and one 300 coin pack, and got 3 4*, 1 5*, and 1 7* (on the last draw, 300 coin pack). Seems that a lot of people have gotten one of those 7*s. I don't know if it's because they increased the odds for them or not.

Nah, it was your luck.

Be happy that you've won a 7* with little effort Wink

I'm definitely happy Smile

I just didn't think I'd get one, or that I'd see so many.

Ahh ic... And well, I joined the forums quite recently, but I've been a player for a lot longer than that, so I wouldn't have much to do with random 4*'s I'd get from the dream packs Razz And do you happen to know how much your allies spent on dream packs before they all got 7*'s? Of course I realize this is all chance, but if the chance were a little higher... idk. It definetely feels higher considering there's 3 different chances instead of just 1 chance to get a 7* because there are 3 different 7* cards, but that's just my speculation.

I think the two allies got it roughly around 12 pulls. Fewer than me but that's luck for you

To temper these stories of "I got a 7* with just a few pulls" myself and my allies all had to spend more than a couple hundred dollars before we saw a 7*

I pulled  my first (Lana) in about 40 packs (400 cards).  My luckiest ally bought something like 8 packs.  You can do the math, but the odds of getting those 7* are not as super hot as they look from the various stories you will see.

I bought 40 more packs before I pulled my second 7* by the way, and I had only gotten 2 6* by that point.  86 packs total and 2 7* 1 6* monster and 1 6* abel

Edit: For purposes of clarity packs, as I am using the term here, refers to the 10 card pack, not the 1 card pack.

Ahh ic... thanks for the insight. Once you pull a 6*, do you have to reset the chest before you can pull a 7*? And yeah, the odds don't seem so great, but perhaps I'm willing to try a few, maybe only the cheaper ones you get until the price reduction goes away. Anyhow, thanks again, and hope we all have good luck Smile

You don't have to reset the box. You can keep going if you like. There are 5 regular 6* 2 new ones and 3 7* units in the box. Think of it like a real box. You are blindly reaching in and grabbing 1 or 10 cards from a box filled with over 1 thousand cards in it.

The chances of pulling a 6* or 7* are still low

The percentage for 6* is something like 0.2% chance to pull. 7* is even lower.

Thanks, Cliff, for helping me not feel like the only one who doesn't have amazing luck in pulling cards. I probably would have to pull another 400 cards like you before I got a 7*

.

Only the people who pull 7* and 6* with lucky pulls post about getting them usually. This, like the rare card report, gives a skewed sense of how easy these are to pull.

People who pull hundreds of cards to get a 7 rarely boast about it and people who spend hundreds and get nothing post in the complaining thread Wink

I need to be pointed to this complaining thread so I don't become disillusioned like this Dream Pack has made me... I've been deceived and paid the cost!

LOL I guess this will become a complain thread from now on. But seriously, I think you're very much justified. It kinda miffs me when games and game companies release crazy stat cards that are only possible to get through sheer luck, or through spending an insane amount of money on.

I'm on my tablet and linking is a bit cumbersome, but there is a card pull appreciation/complaint thread. So you get both sides. Think it's called "What's in your box?"

It`s a common situation called Desire Sensor.

When you just wanted any random card, a 6*/7* appears.
If you wishing for a 7*, a 4* appeared instead.

They've always done it with this game. If you see the rare card report, you have to remember that for every 6* you se on there, there are literally hundreds of 4* and 3* cards you don't see.

Right... Man, that's a turnoff :/ But then again, that's how the world in general works, I guess. Guess the only way we can get ahead is through hard work and a little bit of luck to follow along with our efforts Smile

All depends on what getting ahead mean's to you in the case of this game.  If your goals are modest, you will do well.  This game can be a lot of fun.  However, it's best to know where the ceilings are and what the cost of entry is.

That's why it's great to get an accurate idea of the risks and costs.  There is an awful lot of gambling in this game.   You buy a pack, you might as well be pulling the handle on a slot machine in a casino.  The best thing to do, honestly, if you are thinking of spending money, so to buy te or pots and trade.  Te and pot value has skyrocketed in comparison to the value of cards.

Very Happy Yep, but rather than buying mobacoins/fanta, I think I'll merch my way to the top, because I refuse to believe any game without an economy does not have a merching pathway to the top notch of the community. Smile

That's not always a viable option. Last event for instance, you simply had to buy event items from the store in order to compete at a high level. Some event items aren't tradeable.

I'm warning you right now, you simply cannot make the "top notch" of the community ( consistent high ranker) without spending a lot of money. You'll need to make sure your goals are compatible with your play style and budget. For instance, you will never rank high in a panel event on grinding and trading alone.

Right... Anyhow, top notch was never really my goal. My belief is : "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars" Smile. I'm just aiming to be able to enjoy the game to its full potential, which probably entails having a full party of 6*'s with art that I can look at and enjoy xD And yeah, I realize that all those top rankers are super spenders, which I'm not planning to do, but people who consistently place in the top 1k do include people who don't spend too much on the game, and that's kind of the place where I would like to be.
